The Folsom Museum, a former store |

Folsom nestled in its valley |
This is the second incarnation of this site; originally founded as Madison (by Madison Emery), it moved when the railroad came through and was reborn as Folsom in honor of President Grover Cleveland's wife's maiden name.
It boomed for years as Folsom but now only has 75 residents, many of whose ancestors "dropped out" while going to California on the Santa Fe Trail.
More details are available at Folsom. |

The old hotel on Main Street . The white addition in back is likely where the inside bathroom facilties are located when plumbing was installed. |

These false front buildings are actually built of dressed stone |

The remaining old buildings on main street (the old Santa Fe Trail) |

The garage/filling station which fronts on the main drag |

This brace on the north wall has been here since I first drove through decades ago. |

A few miles east of Folsom are the Folsom Falls (also called Embry Falls) |

Some of the old abandoned houses. |

This sign is near Embry Pass on the Colorado state line, about 20 miles from Folsom but vital to its history. |
